WHO: Classes were created based on the needs of students from various faculties such as Engineering, Pharmacy, Business, and Nursing.

WHAT: The WIRED Program (Winter Intensive & Reflective English Development) – three sessions of 10-week intensive English courses were designed under Tarana’s leadership by intern educators from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, USA.

WHY: Academic performance and aptitude scores of graduating students were satisfactory, but most students could not express themselves successfully in job interviews in English. Other needs included organizing thoughts, reasoning, speaking clearly, and thinking critically to participate in academic and business conversations.

HOW: learnEd trainers used unconventional methods such as project-based learning, community service, and leadership skills to give participants opportunities to use their English daily.

ACHIEVEMENT: The Green Club, an on-campus organization, was started by students of the WIRED program with the help of trainers as an effort to clean up the campus and promote green thinking. This prepared them to present their ideas clearly, send partnership proposals to local organizations such as The Rotary, and build confidence while making a difference.
